When Life Begins Afresh

When Life Begins Afresh
Her physical form obscured the declining light of the day that filtered through the window. She was looking out of the window. There wasn’t a lot to be seen except the boundary wall of the house, but apparently, she saw something quite exciting out of the window. A smile was beginning to take a firm shape on her lips. It wasn’t what she saw outside the window, the events of the preceding hour pushed a smile on her face.

She was smiling because she was to be married in a few weeks. She was to move on from being a dutiful daughter to a dutiful wife, she was to move on to the next stage of her life. She was going to lose her affinity she had formed with her life as a bachelorette and all that it stood for. She had to say goodbye to all her relations now. They are to be there for her exactly as they were while she enjoyed her celibate status, but all equations were to change now. A whole lot of new equations were to be written.

A whole lot of new relations were to settle down in her conscience, and they were to be a lot more important than the ones she had formed till now. The new relations were to be embraced with as much enthusiasm as the old ones, there wasn’t  a difference to be maintained in the way she dealt with them, and life was to go on for her. It was to be  a lot more beautiful if she managed to embrace all new forms of life with as much care as she had dealt with the older ones. She looked forward to welcoming the new relations, she knew she had to move on, she knew this ever since she was a young child, and the caesarean section was to be effected in a few hours. It was as simple as that.

As per the new equations, she was to embrace new priorities in life. Her whole world was going in for an overhaul. Those in the background were to shift to the fore and those in the fore of her life were to assume a backseat. She had once pledged not to lose her affinity with her past, but it was to become irrelevant too. The miracle was to be effected over a few days, or it was going to be a matter of a few minutes only. She knew this was to happen, and she had a faint idea of this since she was a child. This was to be a way of being born again. This was when she was given another chance to live her life. This was when she was going to shed her old skin and assume a new skin, like snakes do, but without being cunning or smart, as snakes are supposed to be.

What may seem to be a surprise for many, is actually a way of life. This is how everyone moves on in life. This is how the world goes around its axis. You have to forget your past associations one day. All of your past and your infancy, childhood, adolescence and teenage is to become irrelevant to you one day. This has to happen for new stages of life to be a part of life. You have to discard the old to embrace novelty in life, and you have to embrace novelty in life because you have to move on in life. You can’t stay where you are for a long time. You have to move on with time, and she had to leave her old world behind her to live in a new world.

She was looking forward to the changed equations her life was going to present before her in a few days. She looked forward to being the entire world to someone, and she wanted someone to be the entire world to her. It wasn’t an option she had before her, but this was a compulsory part of her life. Nature had created her to in the format of a woman, she didn’t have a choice but to celebrate being a woman, and the biggest celebration of being a woman was to be when she held a new life in her arms. It was to be a part of her, she knew, that had to come out of her.

She didn’t have a choice here too. Life was to come out of her, and this was going to be good for her healthy existence too. Life is to merely change its form and format, but it is to go on with its tirade of rewards it gives, and celebrations one has about it.

No one can. Life pushes everybody to the next step of life, and everyone has to embrace novelty in life in whatever form it may present itself in. There is always a dissonance towards embracing novelty in life. Anything new and not known is not welcomed in one’s life with great enthusiasm, but she didn’t have a choice now. She had only a vague idea of the next stage of her life, but she didn’t have a choice but to move on now. There was darkness in the world she perceived with her eyes, and the boundary-wall of the house faded off into ignominy soon.
